What to expect?

The focus on the night is two-fold:
1) To allow graduates of the RCS to catch-up and meet new friends
2) facilitate an honest conversation about careers between recent graduates and students who are applying/exploring the next thing after Imperial. Basically, it will be like previous bar nights but a little more professional focused (e.g., there may be nametags )

What is the RCSA Young Professional community?

The RCSA, has existed for 112 years as the alumni network for Imperial Scientists. And in 2019, a handful of recent alumni launched the RCSA Young Professionals to support newly minted Imperial science grads to navigate the working world and life outside Imperial. [...] Read more...

What is the RCSA Young Professional community?

The RCSA Young Professionals is a network of recent graduates from Imperial that seeks to build a social community and to help guide graduates as they enter professions and the wider world. While many graduates join the alumni association to stay in touch with peers, the Young RCSA also aims to let its members tap into the wealth of knowledge spread amongst its peers about careers, development opportunities, and even travelling, via the network of Imperial scientists all across the globe!

Whilst the RCSA has existed for 112 years, the RCSA Young Professionals network is relatively new, specially designed with you in mind and has ambitious plans for the coming years as they organise events, dinners, interviews and much much more – exciting times to be graduating as an Imperial Scientist! Alumni Weekend 2019 Announced

Imperial has announced that their annual alumni weekend is scheduled for the 29th and 30th of June this year – further details can be found here.

This year Imperial is planning on holding the event alongside a special version of the Imperial Festival – the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

The RCSA is often able to co-host a bar night for the alumni weekend – so make sure to come along to the Union Bar in the evening afterwards!

Whether you’re an alumnus or a student celebrating the end of your exams, come mingle with Imperialites of ages gone by (some valuable networking opportunities!) – we’ll be an eclectic mix of current students and alumni, so it should be a fun evening following a busy day at the Festival.

More details will be posted in the future, closer to the event.

(The previous Alumni Weekend was held on the 28th & 29th April 2018.) [...] Read more...

The First Annual RCS Convention – Thursday 14th September at Imperial College London

I would like to invite you to come along to some or all of the first Convention of the RCS “family”. In our draft strategy being presented at the RCSA AGM, I am seeking to foster stronger connections between our natural friends, allies and champions from across the University – the faculty staff, our student clubs and organisations, the Imperial College Alumni Department, alumni generally and create or re-establish links between us all. So, as an RCSA member, if you have time to pop along at some point in the afternoon or evening, there is a good networking opportunity.

I would be grateful if you could indicate which parts of the day you would like to attend by registering here. There is also a general overview of the day there too.

The event is informal all the way until the AGM formal meeting itself, I believe it will bring the start of new and exciting connections from across Imperial College London.

From 2:30pm in the Seminar & Learning Centre (SALC) room 2, there is a (limited) buffet working lunch. The room only can accommodate 16 but I am keeping my options open should we have a surge in registrations and the call of a free lunch wins! [...] Read more...
