The RCSA exec team are delighted to announce the launch of their first booklet for over twenty-five years! The New Record is hitting the streets now and continues the fine RCS tradition of regularly publishing a booklet updating RCS students and alumni on the recent activities of the Association.
RCSA President Mike Munroe explained,
“we wanted to get the booklet back into circulation since its last publication in 1999 and its first publication over a century ago! The RCSA has been very busy over the past few years so we wished to capture some of that activity while at the same time communicating our mission, values and what we hope to achieve. It is an opportunity to reconnect with our existing membership whilst reaching out to new members. New membership is the life blood of the Association and we had suffered a downturn after covid….. thankfully that is changing for the better now but we do want to accelerate new membership and reach out to current students explaining the value in being a member. The New Record gives us another way to do this!”
The 32 page A5 booklet was produced professionally by Malcolm Triggs (Go4 Marketing and PR Ltd) and Alan Hills (Image Advertising Ltd) who did a great job creating an outstanding looking document. The RCSA editorial team included; Mike Munroe, Jim Sarsfield, Steph Ward, Oscar Farrell and Jack Swires worked to ensure we had great content and the list of individual contributors is long including; Prof Richard Craster (Dean), Sylvia Watson, Jacob Eyre, Jamie Aldridge, Maria Jenkinson, Jenni Munroe, Simon Foster and many more. Thanks for support and guidance from Anne Barrett in the Imperial Archives Unit and thanks for financial support from our advertiser, former RCSU president Rich Archer of the Utopian Brewing Company.
We hope to re-establish The New Record as a regular publication and hope that the current booklet does it’s job and helps us communicate what we stand for and what we are trying to do at the RCSA. Please give us feedback on the booklet and use it to join us or donate to us (using the helpful QR codes in the booklet). If you would like to get involved in any of the RCSA activities mentioned or indeed would like to help publish the next issue of The New Record please reach out through our usual contact route contact@rcsa.org.uk
