The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences (or Dean of the RCS as we prefer to call him), Professor Richard Craster, who took up the role from 1 January 2020, was due to step down during 2024.
We were bracing ourselves for a tearful farewell, but are delighted that Richard has agreed to extend his term of office until 31 August 2027.
The Association has enjoyed working with Professor Craster, who will be familiar to many, particularly perhaps the mathematicians amongst us, as he completed his BSc and his PhD in the Maths Department and was head of the department from 2011 to 2017.
And we are much looking forward to continuing to work with him.
