As we say our final farewells to Tom Welton, outgoing Dean of FoNS (or Dean of the RCS as we like to call him), we welcome the new incumbent, Professor Richard Craster, who will take up the role from 1 January 2020.
Professor Craster will be familiar to many, particularly perhaps the mathematicians amongst us, as he completed his BSc and his PhD in the Maths Department and was head of the department from 2011 to 2017.
Professor Craster said: “It’s an honour to take up the role of Dean in the faculty where I have conducted my entire academic career. I look forward to working with colleagues across our departments when I start in January.”
