The saga of Imperial’s inter-college social rugby competition continues, with the RCS, C&G and RSM once more preparing to go head to head for the Sparkes Cup’s 2019 match! The proposed date and location is Saturday the 22nd June at Grasshoppers RFC in Osterley. Further details are to follow, so stay tuned! (You can read about last year’s Sparkes Cup here.)
The RCSA has now scheduled its summer committee meetings for the evenings of Thursday 13th June 2019 and Thursday 18th of July 2019, to take place at Imperial College. The meeting on the 13th June is to give updates on recent activites and engagement events, and to discuss the association’s future direction. The meeting on the 18th July is to review papers and matters relating to the next AGM (planned for late September 2019). More details will be posted in the future, as will the plans for the AGM. In the meantime, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email the secretary.
Imperial has announced that their annual alumni weekend is scheduled for the 29th and 30th of June this year – further details can be found here. This year Imperial is planning on holding the event alongside a special version of the Imperial Festival – the Great Exhibition Road Festival. The RCSA is often able to co-host a bar night for the alumni weekend – so make sure to come along to the Union Bar in the evening afterwards! Whether you’re an alumnus or a student celebrating the end of your exams, come mingle with Imperialites of ages gone by (some valuable networking opportunities!) – we’ll be an eclectic mix of current students and alumni, so it should be a fun evening following a busy day at the Festival. More details will be posted in the future, closer to the event. (The previous Alumni Weekend was held on the 28th & 29th April 2018.)

The pinnacle of the Imperial inter-college social rugby calendar – the Sparkes Cup 2018 – is happening on Saturady 23rd June! If you’re in the area, feel free to come along as the event is free and open to all, whether as a player or a spectator.
